These first two weeks of the schoolyear have been set aside for remote/online learning for all Jeffco PublicSchool students.
The focus of these two weeks willbe an introduction to the school year. Students will meet with their homeroomteachers and fellow classmates online with the purpose of:
- Establishing and discussing classroom expectations for both remote and in-person students
- Becoming familiar with the technology and applications students will be utilizing throughout the year
- Community building and engagement; let’s have some fun!
- Opportunities for scheduled in-person small group or individual visits to the school for students, and also remote learners who feel comfortable attending
- Assessments
Hours of online instruction will belimited these first two weeks. The district recommends building staminafor online instruction for our K-2 students, beginning with 30-60 minutes a daythe first two weeks. District guidelines call for 3 to 3.5 hours a day ofscreen time for students in grades 3-5. Instruction and engagement thosefirst two weeks will be more limited than that, as teachers will be holdingin-person orientation and assessment sessions. Schedules and sign -ups forvisits during the first two weeks will be shared with you by classroom teachersnext week.
